FASD Hub

Online Peer Support

At FASD Hub Scotland one of the key aspects of our service is making connections and building community. To support those parenting a loved one with a history of PAE or FASD and Adults with FASD we run and moderate an online community through a closed Facebook group.

Our Peer Support Group provides a closed and safe space for parents and carers to gain peer support, share their journey and knowledge with one another and interact with the Hub team. The group is moderated by members of the FASD Hub team and is open to all parents and carers across the UK.

To ensure the group continues to be a safe and supportive space for peer support, to identify potential sources of help or information we can provide, and to help us get to know our members a little better, we ask anyone who would like to join the group to complete our online registration form before we add them to the group:

Community Groups

Having the opportunity to chat with parents and carers with shared experiences of parenting a child or young person with FASD or a history of prenatal alcohol exposure can be really helpful.

For people living in Scotland, we have 1 group per month on the 2nd  Wednesday of each month alternating between daytime and evening. Our community groups are open to members of FASD Hub Scotland, and details of how to join are emailed to members each month. Look out in our Facebook Group for reminders. All our groups are hosted by FASD Hub Advisors and volunteers.

For families outside Scotland, we have a group specially for Adoption UK members that meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month. You can find out more and register to attend by logging into the Membership area of the website.  Membership starts from just £4.50 per month.

Family Support Service

Did you know that we can offer 1:1 support for all parents and carers parenting a child with a confirmed or suspected prenatal alcohol history? No diagnosis needed!

Access to the service is by self-referral via the ink below. After we have received your referral, a member of our team will be in touch to arrange a chat.

Families accepted into the service are matched with one of our FASD Advisors, all of whom have lived experience of parenting a child with FASD. They will help identify areas you would like support with to be on hand as a listening ear.

The service is reviewed with you on a regular basis, and is overseen by our Clinical Psychologist. Families within the service may be able to access our enhanced services, including counselling and other therapeutic services.
